Step into the mind of the unstable, where nightmares become reality and reality is not always as it seems. Embrace the Darkness is a collection of six terrifying tales, exploring the darker side of human nature and the blurred line between dreams and actuality.

5 STARS; ‘The book is 68 pages long and wow what a journey it has been reading it, there are 6 short stories, some 8 pages long – some being 16 pages long but the author has managed to pull you in to each one of them. They all have a life of their own, some darker than others and all have different themes to them, one is mental health related, another about witchcraft, then there’s a medical one and nightmares but they all grip you, they make you want to read on, to make you see what happens at the end. My favourite one has to be ‘Opened up’, this made me cringe at the thought of what the doctors found on the mysterious lump on the poor characters foot but also the atmosphere, the doctor,  the nurse and receptionist all gave it an extra creepy tone, not just in the way some of them looked but their strange attitude. The other creepy thing to it is that when you have had a procedure before in real life you can see yourself in the characters shoes, you can envision the hospital and its dank, dark corridors. And its funny to see that although their seemed to be some warning signs the character still went on and trusted that doctor… Even though the outcome wasn’t necessarily the doctors fault… I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed them all and after telling my husband and my sister I think I may have found two others to read it! Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quick horror thrill and scare.’

5 STARS; Purchased for my husbands birthday and he is really enjoying reading it. The collection of short stories are just long enough for a spare few minutes to yourself or on a work commute

5 STARS; This collection of short stories are ideal to dip in and out of but can easily be read in one short burst as I did. Usually I don’t award these kinds of collections five stars, not because I don’t want to but because it is difficult to get enough traction in such short stories to feel able to give that assessment. I have no difficulty here awarding this collection five stars because each of the stories is perfectly crafted and complete and of course I wanted to read more of my favourites, Opened Up being one!

5 STARS; I highly recommend this book. I read it and thought it was a great story. I can’t wait to read more story from this author. I give this book 10/10 and a 5 star review. I hope everyone who buys this book enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you for the great read.

4 STARS; I rate this book a really solid 4 STARS. ‘Abandonment’ the first short story in the collection didn’t get my attention straight away, but then, I felt that the stories got better. Hands down ‘Dream Catcher’ was my favourite, that and ‘Opened Up’ were definitely 5 STAR stories in my opinion.

4 STARS; Six very diverse tales, sharing a thread of surreal creepiness throughout. A very promising first anthology!

I found P.J. Blakey-Novis’ imagination a fascinating place to visit. Some of the ideas were so good, I wanted them to stretch to a few more pages, I wanted more! I was hooked!

Great job! I will definitely be reading some more horror from this talented author.
